Welcome

Welcome to the International Association of Administrative Professionals Western Canada Division website.  Thank you for visiting. Our division supports IAAP members and chapters throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.  If you have been searching for an organization to help you grow professionally and thrive in today's office culture then you've come to the right place. If you would like more information about this division and the organization as a whole, please check out the "About Western Canada" tab above.

The Western Canada Division is one of three divisions in the Canada District.  The Ontario Division serves IAAP members in the province of Ontario; Eastern Canada Division serves IAAP members living in the the provinces of Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

Members looking for division financial statements, bylaws and other member resources will find this information in the Members Only section.  As members, you will want to build your profile in the "Network" tab above.  Log onto www.iaap-hq.org and download the User Guide.  You'll soon be blogging, adding your voice to discussions about IAAP, participating in interesting eGroups, and learning more about your association.

We hope you will take a few minutes to browse the site.  If you have any questions, please contact Jayne Clark, president.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Western Canada Division Nominations

The deadline for nominations for Western Canada Division Board positions is the end of February - not that long away, hence this reminder to get your applications to your Chapter President so your paperwork will be filed in time to include with the Annual Meeting Materials.

Many of the executives we support in our roles as administrative professionals sit on their industry governing boards, advisory boards and participate in industry-related committees. I ask Western Canada Division members to ask themselves, “what could I do?”

Division leadership offers a rewarding, educational and yes, enjoyable experience.  Members look to IAAP’s leaders for many things; IAAP’s leaders look to IAAP’s members for just as much Standing for office at the Division level of IAAP illustrates to others the level of your commitment to IAAP, your career and yourself..

Below you will find a letter inviting WCD members to step forward for WCD office, the official call for Nominations, Instructions and Information for Candidates for WCD office and the Nomination Form.

If you meet the qualifications and want to "put your hand up", please ask your  Chapter to support your nomination for WCD.  If you are a Division Member-At-large, please ask the Division Board to support your nomination. I look forward to presenting a full slate of qualified candidates at the Division Annual Meeting in Kitchener-Waterloo in June 2012.

If you want to know more, have questions on what is involved, please contact me.

Kind regards,

Dawn Becker, CAP-OM
