Travel tips: Check luggage limits and find hotels easily
With baggage fees becoming the norm on flights these days, it can be difficult to keep track of charges among multiple airlines. Luggage Limits simplifies the process by allowing you to search for specific baggage information based on airline and also departure/arrival locations. Over 105 airlines are included in this free search tool.

Another new site, RoomAtlas, makes locating hotels a breeze. Simply enter the city you are traveling to and RoomAtlas will display a Google map showing where the hotels are located and their rates.

Protect your computer from browser malware
Malware, or malicious software, is all over the Internet. Simply opening a website, a PDF or loading an advertisement can install programs to your computer without your knowledge. There are steps you can take, however, to reduce your risk of unwanted viruses. Check out Lifehacker's article, "Protect yourself from drive-by browser malware attacks" to learn how to better protect your computer.

Top web applications of 2009
With 2009 winding down, the Internet media is starting to rank their top web applications of the year. ReadWriteWeb released its "Top 10 Consumer Web Apps" earlier this week, and last week Lifehacker unveiled its "61 Free Apps We're Most Thankful For." Take a look at the lists. Some of the programs mentioned are more tech-oriented but there's a good chance there's a program listed you've never heard of that would be of use to you.
