I would like to see hqtrs supply more presentations for chapter meetings, including authorization for recertification points.  I think we could really upgrade the quality of speakers as well as presentations that way, also standardizing content for quality assurance.  I have noticed that repeat presentations are being offered by different speakers, and while different speakers may have slightly different content, members should not have to listen to the same thing over and over again.  For example, we recently had the same presentation at a chapter meeting that is also being given at the annual division meeting.  And I believe this same presentation was also given at last year's division educational meeting.  Maybe we should even look at requiring a certain number of our meetings to include standardized presentations from headquarters in order to qualify for Chapter of Excellence.  Maybe this sounds far-fetched, but I feel that it would improve quality and facilitate programming where that job is like pulling cats out of hats sometimes!  [more]

The 60th New York State Division, Inc., Annual Meeting took place last weekend in Queens.  While attendance was down from the year before, we had a great group. The unofficial theme ended up being "change", although we didn't plan it that way.

Trips & Tours took us on a dinner cruise along the skyline of Manhattan at sunset.  The Statue of Liberty was surrounded by the yellows and oranges of a gorgeous night sky.  It was breath taking.

My insides are shouting in time with the music in my head "I'm so excited..  I just can't hide it..." Membership has elected its officers this week and soon I'm about to move into the leadership of president..  It's going to be so odd--I'm a follower by nature and I am in awe of the women who have preceded me.  They are incredible!  They each have left a legacy of maintaining chapter membership, expanding community service projects and providing inspiration through training and programming.  Wonderful mentors who represent dedication and compassion!
