Any individual actively employed as an administrative professional is eligible for membership in IAAP. One does not have to hold certification to become an IAAP member.

II.        MEMBERSHIP AND DUES (Lake Buena Vista Chapter)
A.        Membership

There shall be four classifications of membership as provided in the International Bylaws Article VI.

 B.        Definition of Classifications

1.  Professional Member:  A Professional Member shall, at the time of admission to membership, be a person who is, or within the last two years has been, employed as an Administrative Professional or who has attained the Certified Professional Secretary® (CAP) rating; or a teacher who is employed in the teaching of business education.  Except as provided in Article VIII, Section 2, a Professional Member shall have the rights and privileges of full participation at all levels of IAAP® for which applicable dues and fees have been paid.

2. A Professional-Merited Member: A Professional-Merited Member shall be a member who has been a Professional Member for five years at the time of retirement; and has either attained the age of fifty-five years or received forced work retirement because of physical disability; or is an applicant to the Sandia Retirement Chapter who is a resident of Vista Grande and has been employed as an Administrative Professional, attained the certified CAP rating, or has been a teacher of business education, and also meets the requirement of item 2. of this Section.  Except as provided in Article VIII, Section 2., a Professional-Merited member shall have the rights and privileges of Professional membership.

 3. Student Member:  A Student Member shall, at the time of admission to membership, be enrolled as a student of business education.  Membership in the Student classification shall not extend beyond four years.  A Student Member shall not serve as a Delegate or Alternate at the International level.

 4. Associate Member:  An Associate Member shall be an individual, firm, or educational institution that sustains the objectives of IAAP®.  An Associate Member shall have all rights and privileges as a Professional Member, except an Associate Member shall not have voting rights and shall not serve as either Delegate or Alternate at Division or International levels.

C.   Annual Chapter dues shall be:

 Professional Member  $15.00
 Professional Merited Member  $12.00
 Student Member  $10.00
 Associate Member  (Fee set by International Board of Directors)
