Happy Groundhog Day, Happy Valentines Day, Happy February! Spring is just around the corner. Spring is my favorite time of year. The trees and flowers all start budding out. The temperature starts warming up. And, the birds start returning bringing their excitement with the chirping.

A Place In The Sun... For You!

Vista Grande is a retirement home built by The RTF as housing for retired administrative professionals. Retirement living at Vista Grande is by application from people who are 55 and up and priority is given in this order:

•IAAP members and their families

•Former IAAP members and their families

•Administrative professionals who are not members of IAAP and their families

•People who have never been administrative professionals

Q. What is Vista Grande?
A. Vista Grande is a retirement center built for administrative professionals located in Rio Rancho, N.M., a picturesque mesa northwest of Albuquerque. The land consists of approximately 11 acres and was built in three phases between 1972 and 1983. It has 168 apartments, a community building, lounge, library, crafts room, laundry center, all faiths meditation chapel, a resident nurse, exercise room and management offices.

Q. How large are the apartments?
A. Vista Grande offers one and two bedroom apartments with a wide variety of floor plans. There are both one and two bedroom apartments, ranging from 456 to 807 square feet, with one or two bathrooms. All apartments have kitchens.

The focus for the RTF Committee this year is not fundraising. We will be striving to educate members more about the Trust and about its benefits for members. In particular, you will be learning much more about the HSAN program through videos, newsletter articles, and meeting updates.

Personal tax-deductible contributions can still be made to the Trust using the Family of Givers program. Find information at www.iaap-rtf.org.

Remember -

ALL IAAP members, no matter where they live, are eligible for funds through the HSAN program. There is no need for you to relocate to Vista Grande in order to receive assistance from the RTF.

The RTF has assisted many admins over the years with comfortable and affordable housing through the building and ongoing operation of the Vista Grande apartment complex in Rio Rancho, NM. With RTF subsidies, the apartments at the complex are priced below the rent market for the geographic area.

More recently, we launched the Housing Subsidy for Admins in Need (HSAN) program in an effort to assist more admins. This program has the capability of assisting more admins per year than we currently help.

We need YOU to get the word out about HSAN, so that the RTF can help more admins participate in the program.

The benefits of the RTF begin from the time you become a member of IAAP. The website - www.iaap-rtf.org – is a wealth of information about financial planning for retirement, insurance, health care, etc. Check it out!
