EAST COAST ADMINS WINS CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR 2009-2010
Our chapter has won numerous awards over the last several years.
We are the only chapter in Canada to have won the Avery Dennison Chapter Achievement Award - and we've won it twice (1998 & 2000) and been an honourable mention (1999). This award is offered to a select number of chapters each year that "best demonstrate excellence" and includes a US$3000 prize for furthering the professional development of chapter members and other admins. Criteria include:
- Professional chapter programs
- Promotion of professional certification – CPS & CAP
- Hosting educational events
- Member involvement in IAAP™ international convention
- Active membership recruitment & retention
- Supporting student chapters & student members
- Developing a strategic plan
- Communication
- Generating public recognition
- Meeting the needs of members
We have also won the Distinguished Chapter Award for Membership Growth four times. This award is offered to chapters who increase their membership by a minimum amount during the year. At the Canada Divisions Conference in 2005, we were recognized for having the highest membership growth in the Eastern Canada Division, and in 2008 we were recognized for having the most members write the certification examinations in the Eastern Canada Division.
