As stated in the Chicago Lake Shore Chapter Bylaws and Standing Rules, we may have representation of our members at the International Convention and Education Forum and the Division Annual Meeting.
International Convention and Education Forum:
The Delegate shall be the President and the Alternate shall be the Immediate Past President. If the President is unable to attend, the President Elect will be the Delegate. If the President Elect is unable to attend, the Delegate will be elected by the majority vote of the membership of the Annual Meeting. If the inability of either the Delegate or Alternate to attend becomes known after the Annual Meeting, the Delegate and/or Alternate will be appointed by the Board of Directors.
Division Annual Meeting:
The Delegate will be the President. If the President is unable to attend, the Delegate will be appointed by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will decide whether or not it is necessary to have an Alternate present at the Division Annual Meeting. If the Board of Directors agrees that is it necessary to have an Alternate, than an Alternate shall be appointed by the Board of Directors. The decision will be based on the type of business to be voted on at the Division Annual Meeting and the importance of having the chapter fully represented.
Delegate Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Delegate shall be fully authorized to cast the Chapter’s vote on all matters based on the consensus of the members present at the Chapter meeting prior to the International Convention or Division Annual Meeting. Responsibilities of Chapter Delegate and Alternate
- If there are candidates nominated from the floor or new Bylaws and Standing Rules amendments presented at the International Convention or Division Annual Meeting, it is highly recommended that the Delegate and/or Alternate caucus with the majority of Chapter members present to discuss the Chapter’s vote.
- It shall be the duty of the Delegate to attend all meetings, represent the Chapter on all matters coming before the assembly. The Delegate and Alternate shall prepare a written report to be included in the first Chapter mailing following the relevant Convention or Annual Meeting. The Alternate shall attend any meetings the Delegate is unable to attend.
