Words from the Division President

From The President. . .

AM2011 was a tremendous success due to the hard work and efforts by the Fredericksburg Chapter.  Kudos to each of you!  The culmination of that meeting was the passing of the gavel from President M.J. Surina, CAP, to me.  This I do not take lightly as our division is always looking at opportunities for the future and is committed to serving you, the IAAP members, in anticipation of your professional and personal development.

Everyone has personal commitments that they need to abide by.  And time is a precious commodity.  We have 365 days in a year, 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in a minute—everyone is on the same timetable.  Our time sometimes is not our own, and we have to plan for every moment.  That is why it is extremely important to manage and control your own schedule.

Your Executive Board is planning some exciting programs and meetings for 2011-2012 to suit the needs of each and every member.  We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities that this organization has to offer.  Help us make this a successful and rewarding IAAP year by attending meetings and special events, serving on a committee, and continuing to be the recognized leader of administrative professionals in the Virginia-West Virginia area.

So keep in touch with this web site and also our bi-monthly newsletters for full details.  Thank you for allowing me to serve in this capacity and I look forward to getting to know you better during the upcoming months.

Shirley H. Fuller, CAP-OM
President
Virginia-West Virginia Division
