Retirement Trust Foundation (RTF)

Retirement Trust Foundation (RTF) Committee (Special)

 

Purpose

 Shall promote interest and raise funds for the foundation by ensuring that the Trust has a high level of visibility at Chapter meetings; devise and promote projects, organize fundraisers and educate members about the Trust and its programs.

All RTF Committee efforts should be guided by IAAP’s Vision, Mission, and Purpose statements (see Tab 1).

 

 

 

Responsibilities


1.      Recommendation:  Meet the first part of the fiscal year to determine timelines and delegate responsibilities. 

2.      Become informed about the purpose of the RTF.

3.      Promote and stimulate interest in the RTF through use of and display of RTF materials in orientation and other programs.

4.      Encourage use of RTF presentation in program schedule.

5.      Promote and conduct fundraising projects to benefit the foundation.

6.      Report results of fundraising projects to the Division RTFC.

7.      Responsible for transferring the monies to the Treasurer, who in turn will forward to RTF Headquarters.

8.      Submit expenses to Chapter Treasurer.

9.      Update your Committee binders with pertinent information and bring your binder with you to all Chapter and Board meetings that you attend. 

10.  Ensure all documentation is in your binder before forwarding the binder to the newly selected committee chair at the transition meeting in July.

11.  Attend all Board meetings or provide a report to your Board representative prior to each Board meeting.

Timelines

Monthly

·        Tenth of each month – Articles/updates due to the Newsletter, Publicity and Website Committee Chairs as needed.

·        Fourth Monday of each month – Submit your committee report to your Board representative, unless you plan to attend the Board meeting on that Tuesday.

October

·        10th – Place notices in newsletter if the chapter is doing something special for the RTF month of November.

 

February

·        10th – Place notice in newsletter if the chapter is doing something special for the RTF month of March.


 

 

June

·        15th – Submit fiscal year-end report to Chapter President.

o   Form is located on our website (www.iaap-tulsa.org)

·        30th – All expenses for the fiscal year should have been submitted to the Chapter Treasurer.

July

·        Transfer binder to new committee chair at transition meeting.

o    Ensure documentation for the entire year is in the binder.

 

 

Best Practices

·        November and March are designated as RTF months, however the RTF is promoted continuously and funds are raised throughout the entire year.

The fiscal year for the RTF is 1 July through 30 June. All monies must be sent to Headquarters before June 30 of the current year to be recognized for any of the International or District awards.
