President's Message
April 24-29 is Administrative Professionals Week, with Wednesday, April 27 being Administrative Professionals Day.  This is a time to celebrate our profession!  Chapters throughout Michigan will be celebrating with a special program, lunch or dinner.  I hope you will be able to attend a function in honor of our special day.

There are only seven more weeks until MDAM.  If you have not yet registered, please take a few minutes to complete your registration form and mail it with your check to Mary Smolinski, MD Treasurer.  If you have registered, we still have areas where we are in need of volunteers.  Chapters and/or individuals are encouraged to help with a task related to planning and ensuring a seamless MDAM. Please click on the link below to access the Volunteer Sheets.

.

If you would like volunteer for a job, please be sure to email Marcia Barrette-Rushton, CPS/CAP at mbarretterushto@mhc.net.  Our most urgent need is for individuals to help with registration/credentials.  I have developed a schedule to allow everyone who volunteers the opportunity to participate in the seminar, lunch and other important activities of MDAM.  The Michigan Division board would certainly appreciate your assistance in making this MDAM a memorable one.  You will not regret getting involved, as you will meet new attendees and learn more about how our organization works at the division level.  So please take a look and sign up today.

With Passion & Purpose
Marie A. Ouzoonian, CPS/CAP
Michigan Division President

MD Proposed Bylaws & Standing Rules
The Bylaws & Standing Rules Team has worked hard to review and bring our members the proposed Bylaws & Standing Rules that will be discussed at MDAM.  Please click here for a copy of the proposed amendments.

NOTE: After distributing the proposed Bylaws it was brought to the board's attention that the reasoning in Amendment #7 contains an incorrect word.  We as a board want to inform you of this now so that everyone is aware that although we strive for accuracy at all times, unfortunately, that doesn't always occur.  We also want to thank the member who brought this to our attention.  If you have a question regarding the reasoning of this amendment, please don't hesitate to contact  the Bylaws & Standing Rules Team Leader Karen Charnawskas, CPS or one of the board members.

Star Performers
Have you submitted your Star Performer nominations yet?  If not, there is still time.  Nominations can be submitted at any time, but the deadline to submit nominations in order for nominees to be recognized at MDAM is April 15, 2011.  Your nominee must meet one of the Member of Excellence criteria.  So look around and nominate the person in your chapter, another chapter, or the division, who you feel is a shining star.  Click here to access the Star Performer nomination form. Please email your nominations to to Ruth Sorensen at vicepresident@iaapmichigan.org by April 15, 2011.
