People ask me often how I can come up with so many ideas for IAAP (and other things as well). The answer is surprisingly simple. I usually do it by sitting down somewhere (i.e. often when I am waiting like in a really boring class-hopefully not one I am teaching-or on an airplane or in a waiting room) when I have some time and pulling out a pen/pencil and a pad of paper. I'm daily surfing the internet and reading publications and books about office life. I run across a lot of interesting information I can't use in OfficePro because the content isn't quite right, but it is interesting and relevent.

With that in mind I started to bookmark articles I came across online on the site Delicious, a social networking bookmarking service that allows users to tag, save and share web pages in a central source.

Sometimes I wish that we did not rely on modern technology so much. Case in point, submitting a resume for employment. I know that there are so many people looking for jobs these days and that no one can read every resume that crosses their desk but this word recognition has to go, Think I am fustrated?

I sent in my resume over the internet and filled out all of the questions required including my skills. The position is for an executive administrative assistant. According to the job posting all of the skills required were all things I have been doing for the past 11 years. All of these skills (words) were on the resume somewhere. OK, so I get an e-mail this morning......
