I just joined IAAP today and I'm really excited.  I've been wanting to network with other administrative professionals in my field for quite a while, as well as learn new tips and tricks within my profession.  I'm not sure where exactly to get started on the networking end - I would like to be involved with a local chapter.  Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get connected?

Thanks,
Stephanie

Welcome Stephanie!! IAAP is a great organization that you will enjoy. You need to find a local chapter to join so you can attend membership meetings and find other Admin professionals near you. Good luck and welcome!!

Welcome to IAAP Stephanie! Also welcome to the Virginia - West Virginia Division. It may be a bit short notice for you, but there is a Professional Development Seminar being held in Williamsburg on November 14. I suggest that you visit the VA-WV Division website http://www.iaap-va-wv.org/IAAPHQ/VAWVDivision for more information and registration materials. This would give you an opportunity to meet many members in our Division. I hope to see you there. Again, welcome :-) Tamra

Welcome Stephanie! Like any organization, you will get out of IAAP what you put into it, but I promise you every moment will be worthwhile and beneficial to your personal and professional development. We're so glad you've joined us. :)

Welcome, Stephanie! You can e-mail membership@iaap-hq to check on the status of your membership and get contact information for the Chapter President of the Old Town Alexandria Chapter. If you indicated that you want to join that chapter, then you are a member of that chapter - no invitation is necessary and I'm sure they'll be happy you've chosen them!

Welcome Stephanie, thank you for joining this great association. A great way to connect with admins from all over the world is by attending the IAAP international events, I will email you the listing of our events to help get you started.

The local chapters and division are also a great resource to network with admins in your own backyard.

Thanks for joining and look forward to meeting you.

I'm in Reston, VA and when I joined online, I indicated I wanted to join the Old Town Alexandria chapter, but I'm not sure if you can just do that, or do I need to be invited, etc? I went to their website and it looks like it hasn't been updated since 2008.
