About NOLA Chapter

  NOLA Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals® was chartered December 4, 1953.
  On December 4, 2003 Chapter Members celebrated our 50th Anniversary with a dinner social at the Hotel Intercontinental.  Several Past-Presidents were in attendance and displayed their scrapbooks.  Also in atendance were then Texas-Louisiana Division Vice President, Sharon Chelette CAP/NP/ACS, and Tara Johnson and Connie Zerangue-Depew representing Jambalaya Chapter in Gonzales, LA.  We will be celebrating our 56th Anniversary on December 6, 2009.

  NOLA Chapter's FIRST CAP HOLDER:
   2003-2004 President, Betty Ann Dunn CPS/CAP, who also celebrated 50+ years of service with one employer prior to her retirement.
  Subsequently Judith F. Larmeu CPS achieved her CAP in November, 2005.

 NOLA Chapter has earned the following Awards:

Chapter of Excellence Award
2008 - 2009.  Banner accepted by President Dunn at the 2009 International Education Forum and Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, MN. 
Distinguished Presidents' Award:
 2006 - 2007 President Larmeu received the award at the International Convention and Educational Forum in Tampa, FL.
 2003 - 2004 President Dunn received this award at the 2004 International Convention in Washington, DC.  
 2003 - 2004 Student Chapter Growth Award for the Delgado Community College Student Chapter.

T-L Division:
President's Award
 2008 - 2009 President Dunn accepted the President's Clock at the May, 2009 Division Annual Meeting in Shreveport, LA.
  2007 - 2008 President Larmeu received the President's Clock at the May, 2008 Division Annual Meeting in Houston, TX.

The International Association of Administrative Professionals is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. The association founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association to provide a professional network and educational resources for secretarial staff. The association's name was changed in 1998 to the International Association of Administrative Professionals to encompass the large number of varied administrative job titles and recognize the advancing role of administrative support staff in business and government.
