Stacy's Nomination letter:
Joe Glowacki has been my boss for a little over nine years now. I am nominating Joe this year as EOTY because he supported me 110% during the bad year I had.
Joe encouraged me to get involved with IAAP. So if it wasn’t for Joe I may not be part of this wonderful group of women.
During this past year as you all know I was diagnosed with skin cancer. What you may not know is that I got that dreaded phone call on my way into work. I’m sure Joe didn't have a clue on how to handle this poor woman crying. But the first thing Joe said was, OK, what do you need to do? I was so discombobulated that I wasn't sure what to do. So Joe took action, had someone get directions to the doctor and had me call my relative to meet us at the doctor’s because he could get me there faster. I was sick to my stomach from taking pills. Poor Joe had to deal with me jumping out of the car to be sick to my stomach and then he sat in the waiting room until I came out. Joe even let the nurse know how nervous and scared I was. I don’t know many bosses who would sit at the doctors and wait for an employee but Joe did. Once I knew what my plan was for the skin cancer Joe sat me down and we tried to figure out the best plan so I wouldn't lose much time at work.
When Joe heard I passed my CPS exam, he stepped up and nominated me for the company “Making a Difference Award.” There are different levels to this award and the company wanted to give me one of the lower levels but Joe refused and fought until I got what he thought I deserved for working so hard. Joe held a staff meeting and announced to the whole group that I received the “Making a Difference Award”.
I think Joe is an AWESOME boss and I’m so happy to work for and with him. Joe’s door is always open to everyone in the office to discuss any issue you may have, whether it be business or personal.
